Fleet Week

Once every year San Francisco celebrates Fleet Week, a display put on by the US Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Events include a fair on the marina green, tours of docked Navy vessels, and more. The crown jewel of Fleet Week is a series of aerial performances by various groups with a finale by the Blue Angels. It's really hard to capture those high-performance jets with only a consumer-grade point-and-shoot camera and tripod but I manage. Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park is San Francisco's largest park. At 1,017 acres, it is about 20% larger than Central Park in New York City. It has many attractions including the De Young Museum, Academy of Sciences, San Francisco Botanical Garden, Conservatory of Flowers, and many others, and is often used as a staging ground for various festivals and concerts.
